The MAKO 9550 is ideal for lines in the 10 to 12 weight range, depending on the spool. Paired with the 810 spool, the reel will work for 8 weight through 10 weight lines but, in our opinion, is best suited to 9 weight and 10 weight lines. Buy the reel with the 1012 spool and you’ll have an excellent reel for 10 weight through 12 weight lines.

- What color backing would you prefer? The free options are White, Fluorescent Yellow and Orange.
- If you are purchasing a line, would you like us to install it on the reel? If so, we will install the appropriate amount of backing for that line. If we will be installing backing without a line, we will go by the manufacturer’s specifications for the smallest line recommended for that reel. If you would prefer something different, please let us know.
