RIO's Fluoroflex Saltwater Tippet is medium stiff and made from 100% fluorocarbon material. A tough saltwater tippet, the Fluoroflex is abrasion resistant, super strong, and easy to knot. Great for casting the largest of flies and in tough winds, this tippet is great for all saltwater species, especially snook, tarpon and even muskies!
A favorite with Orlando Outfitters and our customers, Rio Fluoroflex has a great reputation throughout the world for reliability. Highly abrasion-resistant and slightly stiffer than Rio Powerflex and Fluoroflex Plus, Fluoroflex is the ideal choice for use in the salt where both stealth and abrasion resistance are necessary.
Works great in smaller sizes for spooky bones and redfish and the thicker material will keep big snook and tarpon from chewing through your leader. We typically use 30# for small and medium-sized snook and step it up for larger fish. When chasing tarpon of 40# and up consider going with 60# or heavier.
